Introducing baby Tyler

One of my best friends just had her second baby boy. I was able to get these pictures of him when he was just 6 days old. (I also could not resist snapping some shots of the proud big brother.) Leaving Pittsburgh

This family is graduating and leaving Pittsburgh this month. We we able to get these fun family pictures before they left. The sun was driving me crazy though. I would set my exposure just right but the sun wanted to play peek-a-boo behind the clouds all morning and completely threw off my exposure. It's the little lessons that I have to learn every day. Some Family Time

We were having beautiful 70 degree weather all week, and then of course, the day of our shoot the temperature dropped down to 50 degrees! We were freezing. Especially because the best pictures are taken in the shade where it's the coldest. We toughed it out and got some good shots anyway.

I woke up the morning we were supposed to do this shoot and noticed the rain clouds looming overhead. I checked the forecast and it said it was going to rain all day. I called Amanda to see if she wanted to reschedule, or try to rush out and do the pictures before the rain hit. She said "Let's do it!" But of course, the rain started on our way out there, came down on us through the whole shoot, stopped 30 minutes later, and it was beautiful the whole rest of the day! Oh well, we were able to get some cool umbrella shots...

So, I've been realizing that when I load my pictures into Picasa and my blog they look different than they do when I just have them open on my computer. On my computer they look perfect and smooth and when I put them online they look choppy and rough. I've never noticed it before, but this shoot is the worst. They look so nice on my computer and I want to cry when I look at them on here. Any suggestions what I'm doing wrong?

Don't judge me based on these pictures. I may have to start looking into alternative ways to display my pictures. If you want to see the web album anyway, here it is.

Our good friends are graduating and leaving us behind. :( It's a bitter/sweet occasion. At least I was able to take some of his graduation pictures for them.

I got to meet these fun new parents when I took maternity pictures for them. They were waiting to find out if it was a boy or girl. Now she's here and I was able to go take pictures of her three and a half days after she was born! In spite of her best efforts we were able to snap a few good ones of her and her loving family. This three year old made my job much too easy. Every time I clicked the shutter I was awarded with a priceless gem. We were best friends within an half an hour. Come see some more of our day together.

I thought I had lost these jewels when my computer crashed yesterday. After a very fitful hour I was able to recover them!!! I learned a very valuable lesson that I will now impart to you. ALWAYS make sure you have a backup of a shoot at ALL times, not just when you finish all the editing. I will never repeat that mistake again.

I got to take pictures of a friend's baby this week. (Only a 7 days old!) It was a lot fun, and I learned so much...like you should never leave a diaper off a baby for two straight hours unless you want to do a whole lot of laundry after! The little stinker stayed awake and wanted to do a whole lot of wiggling for most of it, but we finally got him to sleep near the end. :) Come see them all.

Danny and I got to go to the Dominican Republic for Christmas. It was THE most beautiful place I've ever been! From the rice fields to the rolling hills to the beaches, every view was breath taking. I didn't take my new camera because I was too scared that something would happen to my baby, so this is what I was able to capture with my point and shoot.

Photo Restoration

I love taking old photos and restoring them in Photoshop. This is an example of an old photo I had of my Great Great Grandmother.

I took out the cracks and scratches and imperfections of the photo and enhanced the image. Notice how I even fixed the top of the image where her hair was cropped off.

Individual Portraits(1-2 people): $100

Family Portraits(3-8 people): $150

Newborn: $150

These prices include the photo shoot, editing, online gallery to share with family and friends for up to 1 year, and a CD with 30+ of your artistically rendered images in full color, sepia, and black & white. For an additional $30 I can give you an edited version of all the pictures taken at the shoot. With this CD you will have full reproduction rights (up to 16x20). I reserve the right to use photos taken during our session on my website and for other advertising purposes.

We can do the sitting in my home or outdoors at a location in the Pittsburgh/South Hills area. If there is a specific location you would like to shoot at let me know, if not, I have a trove of awesome places I want to try out.

It will take approximately 2 weeks for your CD to be ready. If needed, I can do a rush order in 4 days for an additional $40.

Payment is due at the time of the sitting and is non-refundable. Checks are preferred.

In case of inclement weather, we can reschedule with no additional charge.
